California professional artist photographer, Kerby Smith, is here this week at the Hudson River Valley Art Workshops. He is teaching a 5 day workshop on digital photography, working with PhotoShop Elements and printing on fabric.
The first 2 days of class were spent in the studio. Everyone was set up with their laptop or desktop computers following along as Kerby explained various uses of PhotoShop Elements and how to get the images and the colors you want for printing on fabric or paper.
Today Kerby took the group out for a picture-taking walkabout. It was the perfect Spring day for it, too!
They took pictures around the inn, Greenville Arms 1889 Inn, too. Here is Joan taking a picture of the shop thread display.
And, of course, when the group came in for cookie time, Kerby had to take a picture of his chocolate chip cookie!
Everyone is having a grand time and just can’t say enough good things about Kerby and what a wonderful teacher he is and how patient he is explaining all the technical details of PhotoShop.
Kerby and his wife, Lura Schwarz Smith, co-wrote a fabulous book called “Secrets of Digital Quilting: From Camera to Quilt” with 8 projects and 25 techniques, including inking, painting, and embellishing. I highly recommend it! We sell it in our shop, but you can also pick up an autographed copy directly from Kerby and Lura
